Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties

10h15-10h30: Arrive Vietnam restaurant and start cycling 20 minutes to Hoa Lu ancient capital, then park the bicycle and walk to visit Hoa Lu. This is the first capital of Vietnam, you will be impressed by the outstanding architecture when entering temples of King Dinh and King Le, the first and second emperors of ancient Vietnam, built in the 17th century. (If you prefer not to cycle, we will transfer you by bus to Hoa Lu, where our tour guide will meet you and guide you to the temples. After the visit, we will transfer you back to Vietnam Restaurant) 11h30 : Continue cycling tour 30 minutes more around the village to discover the life of local people and come back to Vietnam restaurant. 12h00: Have Lunch at Vietnam Restaurant designed in a 5-star style. You can have a panoramic view of the poetic mountain and river scenery of Ninh Binh while enjoying the delicious foods. Buffet lunch is served in a modern and elegant atmosphere with many local foods.

The tour offered a balanced combination: we climbed the stairs to Mua cave (quite strenuous but worth it for the stunning views), boated, cycled through the countryside, and visited temples. This variety made the trip exciting and dynamic. I loved that we weren't just doing one type of activity — we got to experience many aspects of Ninh Binh in one day. For active travelers, this is a perfect day trip

Lunch by the river was a plus – a buffet with a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes that would satisfy even the pickiest eaters. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and dining with views of the mountains and river made the experience even better. It felt very authentic and local, unlike a typical tourist spot. This certainly added to the enjoyment of the day.

The highlight for me was the boat trip through the limestone mountains and caves, gently gliding across the calm water amidst lush greenery and majestic limestone formations. It felt magical, like drifting into another world. I didn’t expect Ninh Binh to be this beautiful. The ancient capital, the cave complexes, the mountains - everything felt magical. Mua Cave tested my legs, but the scenery at the top was breathtaking. The countryside ride was my favorite part, giving me a real sense of local daily life.

I chose the small-group option (maximum ~8–10 people) and that made a huge difference. It felt more personal and relaxed than large-group tours. Pickup from my hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter was on time, and transport was smooth. The guide and driver were attentive — we never felt rushed even though the day was full. Felt like a private tour but at a reasonable price.

This ATV Ninh Binh tour was exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for. I loved exploring Hoa Lu and learning about its history before drifting through the caves on a peaceful boat ride. The climb up Mua Cave was tough but totally worth the view. Ending the day with a quiet bike ride through the countryside made it unforgetable.

The tour itinerary was well thought out: we visited ancient temples in the morning, then took a boat ride through caves, then cycled through rice paddies. The contrast between the historic architecture, lush nature and quiet countryside was striking. Our guide shared interesting stories about the history and culture of the area, making it all the more meaningful. I had a great day, leaving Hanoi early in the morning and arriving in Ninh Binh after about 2 hours. The bus was comfortable and air-conditioned, the guides was friendly and knowledgeable. We climbed the steep stairs at Mua Cave for breathtaking panoramic views, then enjoyed a peaceful boat ride through the rivers and caves — a truly magical experience. The lunch on the riverside with local Vietnamese food was delicious and filling. By the end of the day, I felt relaxed, inspired and grateful for this memorable trip
