Personal and Adventurous Experience – A smaller group size allows for a more intimate and flexible chase, guided by Northern Lights experts.

Adaptive Routes and Patience – Our route changes based on weather, cloud cover, and road conditions. We may travel long distances or into Finland to find clear skies.

Set Realistic Expectations – The aurora is unpredictable; some nights offer subtle displays, while others feature vibrant colors. Multiple chases increase the chance of a spectacular sighting.

Scenic Stops When Possible – If conditions allow, we stop for campfires and photo opportunities, but finding clear skies is our top priority.

Expert Guidance and Support – Our guides assist with photography and share insights about the aurora, making this a rich and educational adventure.

Pictures often depict Northern Lights stronger than what we may see with our eyes

Our tour operates on all weather conditions. It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions and we often see the Northern Light on nights when the weather forecast is worst.

Regardless if the sky is clear or not, there is a chance we may not see the Northern Lights

There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights

This is a real chase that can include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00

It is recommended to dress warm

You may be tired the next morning

We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature

This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that a trip needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In such cases, we will also offer to reschedule your trip to an alternative trip.

Alcohol is not allowed on the tour

The exact departure time will be sent on the morning of the tour.

This Chasing Lights tour was an awesome experience. The tour staff were great! It was a mini-van with about 12 people. We were provided thermal suits and shoes to endure the cold night temps. We were able to see the Northern Lights despite me thinking there wasn't a chance that night. They also take pics they send to you after trip.

No doubt that it was one of the most exciting experience of my life! The green lady showed up and gave us a big and beautiful dance, I’ll never forget the feeling and screams haha Irene, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide, you’re the best! And of course, the best Irish driver, Brian, so patience with this crazy and loud Brazilian group, thank you!!!

A beautiful experience! Thanks to our guide Nick, who found the perfect spot. First, the sky was gorgeous, full of stars, and then, after a short wait, the Northern Lights appeared, illuminating the entire sky and dancing above us. It was incredible. The organization and effort of Nick and the team in providing us with such a wonderful experience were key. 100% recommended!

I had a very good experience with Irene (guide tour) and Brian (driver) , they provided all the equipments we need to stand with cold weather, hot beverages and delicious soup, everything was perfect!!

The best tour that one can take while in Tromso with very passionate and knowledgeable guides Tessa and Michiel. The hot black currant drink with cookies, pulled pork dinner by the campfire and with auroras dancing in the Arctic sky - it was simply magical. You can just enjoy the sights since the team takes photos and mails them to you the same night. Be prepared for the cold with extra layers.

An excellent trip. Well organised and knew where to fund the best displays. We were so fortunate to see a spectacular appearance of the Northern Lights. It was cold though and always be prepared with your own kit in case they don’t have your size with them in the van.

We love the experience provided by the Chasing Lights team. We had the opportunity to have the company of the driver Ivan and our guide Jefta who gave a show of knowledge and was exceptionally attentive to our group. Amazing. Let's go back.

Birthday special - Me and my Frnd booked a northern lights minibus chase tour and I must say it was the best decision ever , coz of a good environment, good tour guide by Owen who is full of knowledge & energy & of course he is funny , safe drive by Marcin who was kind .
