Personal and Adventurous Experience – A smaller group size allows for a more intimate and flexible chase, guided by Northern Lights experts.
Adaptive Routes and Patience – Our route changes based on weather, cloud cover, and road conditions. We may travel long distances or into Finland to find clear skies.
Set Realistic Expectations – The aurora is unpredictable; some nights offer subtle displays, while others feature vibrant colors. Multiple chases increase the chance of a spectacular sighting.
Scenic Stops When Possible – If conditions allow, we stop for campfires and photo opportunities, but finding clear skies is our top priority.
Expert Guidance and Support – Our guides assist with photography and share insights about the aurora, making this a rich and educational adventure.

Pictures often depict Northern Lights stronger than what we may see with our eyes
Our tour operates on all weather conditions. It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions and we often see the Northern Light on nights when the weather forecast is worst.
Regardless if the sky is clear or not, there is a chance we may not see the Northern Lights
There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights
This is a real chase that can include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00
It is recommended to dress warm
You may be tired the next morning
We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature
This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that a trip needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In such cases, we will also offer to reschedule your trip to an alternative trip.
Alcohol is not allowed on the tour
The exact departure time will be sent on the morning of the tour.

5.00This experience with Chasing Lights was just awesome. We were able to see the Northern Lights all evening. The minibus principle allows for a slightly more privileged moment. Special mention to Irene who is full of energy and who took great pictures. Thank you!

5.00Marvelous night watching spectacular aurora show with Chasing Light team - Ivana, Meda & Pawel. We were lucky to have mostly clear skies for our aurora viewing along with clear constellation views of Milky Way plus some shooting stars as a bonus! Much appreciation the team for taking us to a secluded tidal pool area where we had the are to ourselves for the night! And for setting up a nice campfire! Overall unforgettable experience with the enthusiastic Chasing Light team

5.00Our family had a great time on Northern Light chase tour. Our guide Ivana was superb along with our bus driver Brian and extra guide Alex (LOL). Both Ivana and Alex shared all the pictures they took; the pictures were amazing. Ivana came fully prepared, engaged entire group to make it a fun and enjoyable trip.

5.00Having flown more than 20 hours from Asia to Norway especially to catch the northern lights, this tour did not disappoint. Despite the worries from the constant cloud cover and rainy days in tromso, our experienced guides’ (Alex, Ivanna, and driver Pawel) spirits remained high and optimistic. We persisted, eventually drove into Finland and we were rewarded with the majestic dancing lights in the night sky. The enthusiasm from the guides was infectious! With the stories around the camp fire, the warm dinner and drinks - this was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you!

5.00This was such an amazing experience. It’s a night to always remember. We drove all the way to Finland to make sure we got the best view of the lights - and we sure did. We saw the northern light dancing in the sky. Alex and our driver Marcin were amazing. Special shoutout to Alex for constantly checking in on everyone and taking jaw dropping photos. He’s a professional photographer and I love how passionate he is with the northern lights. You can ask him any questions! My one recommendation for people booking the tour - make sure you wear plenty of cloth especially for your feet! It was negative 6 degree Celsius when we visited end of October.

5.00Great experience with Chasing Lights! The tour is well organized, with Brian the driver and Irene the guide. Irene is enthusiastic and passionate, she knows her subject well. Lucky, on arrival, the Northern Lights were already there!! Irene made lots of photos, couples, solo, etc., and photos of the lights alone, so we had a great memory once we got home. The meal around the campfire completes the experience very pleasantly.

5.00Such an amazing aurora chase experience with Chasing Lights on my very last night in Tromso!! We managed to catch aurora upon reaching the fjord and it stayed throughout the few hours while we were there!! Our guides Ivana and Meda took great care of us, even took really awesome photos of us, our driver Pawel also done a great job sending us ard safely plus the minibus is so comfy!! :D

5.00We had an absolutely incredible Northern Lights experience with our guide Irene and our driver Brian. It was a spectacular night with very active aurora, and Irene captured breathtaking photos for us. She knew exactly how to guide us into the right positions, find the best angles, and direct each shot — every picture turned out amazing. Irene also explained everything clearly: where we were, how the aurora works, and even how to recognize stars and use them to orient ourselves in the sky. It felt personal and special, not just a standard tour. Both Irene and Brian were always attentive and genuinely caring about our comfort and safety throughout the night. Thank you so much, Irene and Brian, for an unforgettable experience.
