At the beginning of the tour you will have a possibility to shop for fresh vegetables and produce at the buzzing market. Later, the guide will take you to her/his private home and help you to become a pierogi-making machine. You will learn from your local host how to make authentic Polish food and you will try out your Polish language skills while experiencing an authentic Polish family home and meal-time traditions and conversations.

How you will help the local community by joining this tour: - At the beginning of your tour, you will visit a local farmers’ market which is located off the beaten path, where you will have a chance to learn some Polish as you shop, which provides a great opportunity to interact with local vendors and respect their language and traditions. - Your tour also supports local vendors who wouldn’t have access to tourists without Krakow Urban Tours. - In addition, your tour promotes regional products

We are going to show you how to make pierogi like a pro. At the beginning, you’ll go shopping at the bustling market, and you will get from your guide all the insider info on the fresh vegetables and produce for sale along the way. Your guide will even be able to teach you some expressions in Polish if you wish so that you can barter at the market like a true Krakow native! Next on this Krakow tour, you’ll be taken to a family home, where you’ll be able to put all that delicious fresh produce to use and get some cooking lessons from Krakow locals. You’ll be taught how to make a pierogi, a typical Polish dish (kind of like a dumpling). Whilst you’re cooking you’ll have the chance to ask all the questions about Poland you have always had. Finally, you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour and tuck into all the Krakow food you’ve been making. As you’ll be eating with a Polish family, this will also be your chance to ask all those questions you have about Polish culture, and your hosts will be very happy to teach you all about their country. Eat, drink, and be merry – Krakow style!

5.00Our visit to the market and pierogi-making class with Alicja was absolutely wonderful. My group loved the entire experience and would highly recommend it to others—we had so much fun and even learned a new skill! Getting to play with her dog was an unexpected bonus and definitely a highlight.

5.00We had an excellent experience with Agata. Shopping at the market was great fun and fascinating as was driving out of the centre to where people actually live. The class itself was instructive snd enjoyable and my only regret is that I couldn’t manage all the delicious lunch. I highly recommend this your and Agata as a teacher.

5.00Review for Agata: Thank you for the pierogi recipe!! When my daughters saw the photos of you and all of us making pierogies they said they want to make them too when they come for a visit. We enjoyed our shopping trip to the fresh market and then visiting with you at your beautiful home. You were a wonderful hostess providing us with plenty of delicious food in addition to the pierogies. The tasty bread and pastries were a treat we cannot find in the states. Thank you!! You are hospitable and speak very good English which made us feel welcome. This is an experience not to be missed since you will be immersed in the local culture and meet interesting people. Agata was amazing and a great cook who guided us through making delicious potatoe cheese pierogies.

5.00Our guide and teacher Dominika was amazing! She was friendly, upbeat and professional. She helped us shop in the local market and then took us to her lovely home where we learned how to make pierogis. It was a fun, hands-on experience that lasted in total about 3 hours. Dominika was well prepared, gracious, and supportive of our attempts to create this terrific food. We enjoyed her thoughtful responses to our questions about Polish food and culture. It was the highlight of our trip! We are confident that we will be successful when we make pierogis in our own home. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience. Worth every penny!

5.00I was not expecting much from the pierogi making class but it turned out to be a highlight of our vacation to Poland. Magdalena taught our class and she was wonderful- charming, very knowledgeable about Polish history and culture, and a lot of fun. Plus the food was delicious and my husband and I now feel comfortable making pierogis at home. I would highly recommend this activity.

5.00What an amazing experience! We learned to speak some Polish and order items at the farmers market then went to Kasia's beautiful space to make pierogi. She was wonderful, patient, and it was so much fun!
