Is the tour safe? We want your cycling experience in Rome to be unforgettable and, above all, safe. For this reason, we have carefully selected our itineraries, favoring quiet roads with little traffic. Furthermore, our expert guides will accompany you at all times, providing you with all the necessary information and making sure you always feel at ease. You will be able to relax, admire the views and discover the city in a unique and authentic way.

The "group tour" starts with a minimum of 4 participants, if this number is not reached, you will be offered an alternative or a full refund.

Our small group tours are limited to a maximum of 8 people.

Approximately 90% of this tour takes place on the Roman paving of the Via Appia Antica. There is no car traffic, as only residents' cars have access. There are only two crossings when we leave the Appia Antica Regional Park to enter the Aqueduct Park; and when we pass from the Tor Fiscale Park to the Caffarella Park

The journey by private shuttle is approximately 20 minutes each way

Basic-medium bike riding skills are required to participate in this activity as it takes place off the beaten track and in the countryside.

The guide, after a briefing, reserves the absolute and unquestionable right not to admit participants not deemed suitable due to skills or problems related to body/mind health to the tour, no refund will be issued in these cases.

Infants up to 20 kg traveling in a child seat and participating in the tour as our guests.

Children up to 139cm join the tour with a children's extension.

Children can ride their E-bike from the age of 12.

In the case of official/public celebrations and events in the center of the city of Rome, the tour operator can replace one or more of the highlights of the itinerary.

I booked this tour the night before and as it is November I expected to be told the tour would not run because there were not enough guests. But that was not the case. Emanuele was my guide and even though I was the only guests he gave an awesome tour. He was very informative, really friendly and we had a great time together. He clearly has a passion for both biking and the fantastic history in the area. Our first stop was to the catacombs where the guide from the catacombs gave a great tour. Then we began the bike tour on very modern, new e-bikes. We biked the Appian Way with stops for pictures and detailed explanations of the monuments that line the route and why they are there. We biked to the aqueducts and enjoyed a great ride through the park again with picture stops along with detailed explanations. Emanuele was a fantastic guide and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon together. I recommend this tour and Emanuele to everyone!

Our guide, Emanuele, was very knowledgeable and always had our attention with his stories. The group size was also very small and it was very personlised. He adjusted the pace on the bicycle to suit my youngest son. The attractions and photo spots were well chosen, and the transportation arrangements were excellent. The duration was also just nice for half-day tour and had sufficent rest even for those who are not used to cycling. Martin from the bike rental was also patient in teaching everyone and making sure they knew how to handle the bike. Highly recommended.

Very nice experience outside the hubbub of downtown Rome. An opportunity to exercise while learning about history. Matteo, our guide shared his unique knowledge of the place he has known since childhood. Really nice to see the point of view of a regular.

This was one of our favorite things that we did in Rome!! We were a little worried when we showed up to the address just waiting for someone to pick us up, yes they did even a couple of minutes early! What a fun experience even from the first hello! Eduardo greated us with a warm hello, he was very informative on the ride to the shoppe where we met up with Alex and got set up on a bike, next they took us to the Catacombs, they were amazing we enjoyed them so much. The Aquduct park was so fun to ride through and our tour guides were amazing!! They were so skilled at navigating us through the city safely! If ever in Rome this is a must do!!

Emanuele gave us a tour that we will never forget. He was so friendly and accommodating and very knowledgeable when it comes to Roman and Greek history. It was so interesting listening to everything he shared. The walk through the catacombs was very unique and getting to see the various aqueducts and ruins was beyond incredible. Riding our bikes through part of the city was an unexpected pleasure as well. And, the meeting and drop off point was in the perfect spot. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Emanuele.

There is so much to see and do in the eternal city of Rome, but the highlight for us was pedaling an e-bike on the ancient Appian Way road. Leave the crowds behind and go on a fun bicycle adventure in an unbelievably picturesque setting. The beauty of this part of Rome is beyond words and it almost felt like going back in time. Laura was our guide. She is exceptional! She treated us like we were family or like a good friend. Her enthusiasm and warmth is endearing. She pointed out things that we would have missed if on our own. She stopped to take photos of us in front of the aqueduct, and even had a little photo printed up for us as a memento of this unforgettable day. The catacomb guided visit was a nice bonus as well. Thank you Laura and Bicycle Roma!

Great experience with our guide, Riccardo! It was a relief to be picked up in the van and not bike around the city streets with my teenage daughters. Riccardo first took us to the Catacombs which were an interesting experience to go underground see where they buried thousands of people. Then we headed to the Appian Way to bike, which was our first time on e-bikes. We got the hang of it in a few minutes and had a lot of fun, and only drove on roads for brief periods of time. Riccardo was very knowledgeable about the history of everything and helped us understand what life was like 2,000 years ago. We got some great photos at the aqueducts and generally found the trip very educational to learn about the aqueducts, how they got built and destroyed. We would recommend to families with teenagers, added a bit of fun to our sightseeing trip. Thanks Riccardo!

We had a great day with Emanuel as our guide. Group of 7 and started out near Circus Maximus. The catacombs were interesting to see. We enjoyed the bike ride down the “old” Appian Way and on through the ancient aqueduct park. Ride was about an hour and a half and bicycles easy to figure out. Fun to get out of the hustle of Rome and to enjoy a quieter day. Emanuel gave us a thorough overview of the history of the area and made the tour fun. Nice way to spend a day just outside the city.

Fantastic trip, very fun and informative. Much knowledge from Emanuele and Riccardo. We felt safe throughout the trip. I recommend going early 😀
