Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.
Ha Long Bay Day cruise tour could be changed the starting time according to cruise ship schedule.

Probably one of the best tours I’ve ever taken with Viator and I have taken many. This tour is a Gem. If you are looking for the true Asian experience. We highly recommend this tour. You get taken to a cruise ship called ambassador that is very nice and they feed you almost nonstop and because we were the only Americans on the entire ship consisting of about 150 people they paid special to us to make sure we knew when it was time to eat and where to go when we were doing the rafting, part of the tour, etc. The tour guides were excellent, the food was authentic Chinese, and other cuisines, and the sides were some of the most amazing I have witnessed.

We had booked a tour to Hanoi, but decided the car trip from the port of Halong Bay was too long and we cancelled and booked this trip on the Bay itself instead. This turned out to be an excellent decision and provided us with a delightful day aboard the boat. Halong Bay is a remarkable UNESCO Heritage Site of a large archipelago of small unoccupied limestone islands. It is very beautiful and as our trip began in the mist aboard the DANG A, the views were almost mystical. The mist burned off and it turned into a fairly bright day. There were 4 stops in the day: a visit to a pearl culturing operation, a hike through a cave, a stop at a place that provided kayaks or rides in "bamboo" boats (what they are called, not what they are) to explore the LUON area, and lastly a visit to a beach with the opportunity to climb to the island's summit to get the view. At the first site, the steps down off the boat weren't manageable by two of us with some mobility limitations. This is a flaw that could be easily addressed with better steps and should be. But we enjoyed the day, the service on the boat, the beauty of the place and especially the ride in the bamboo boats. This excursion was relaxing and very enjoyable.

The pearl farm was fascinating. The explanation and demonstrations were really good. The other parts of the tour were somewhat soured by too many tourists and boats in the same places. The plastic pollution is a big problem.

Johny our guide was great. Very engaging and knowledgeable plus arranged our stops so that we were not stuck in crowds. Every stop was engaging and very much fun. We saw a lot of Hue Long bay with a generous lunch. Highly recommended,

Very interesting and beautiful place to visit. Too bad it was so cold that we couldn’t swim or kayak. Our guide Mr. Johnny was very attentive and considerate. 👍🏾
