The dinner was a bit disappointing. The food was not as expected. The performance show was the highlight of the entire tour

The show itself is really great and the staff is passionate. The rest... well without more The meal is good but I find it expensive overall.

The experience starts with a quick explanation of why the site is there, to promote and ensure Maori arts and culture continue. The evening then moved onto the traditional Maori challenge in front of the meeting house. Once the warriors had accepted we were friendly we were allowed into the house. Then we had the cultural performances of songs, dances and exhibitions of traditional Maori items. It was all superb and so interesting to hear about the meanings behind the performances. Then we walked to the area of the park where the geyser is. It sort of erupted but not amazingly well but still a great and impressive experience. Finally we got our meal which was really tasty and an incredible amount of choice. It was incredible to see and experience the Maori culture and its songs and dances. This was a truly great experience.

We booked this dinner because we missed out on another show, this only included the dinner and nothing else. We were put on the verandah where we got to see the gyser blowing, the meal was nice but not what we expected. Our biggest disappointment was the older people who were like vultures, they pushed in and tbh it was pretty embarrassing. My husband came over from getting his dinner in shock at their behaviour. I really feel sorry for the staff that have to deal with this often.

We found the price a bit high for the experience. The buffet was good but not particularly outstanding. The tour and evening experience of the Maori presentation and the geysers was fantastic. Our tour guides were very entertaining, they were very funny and personable. My favourite part was the welcome ceremony of the tribal chiefs. I would have only preferred if the price was lower by ~$50 each.

From the age of 7 to teenagers and couples in their 50s, I was able to enjoy three hours without getting bored and spend it full: New Zealand's No. 1 experience from performances, guide explanations, buffets, and natural scenery

We recently had a work function at Te Puia which included a guided tour, dinner, and a cultural show. I’ve been to Te Puia before… just exploring on my own, and I had a great time, but I didn’t know how rich the experience could be when their amazing staff is involved… it was so much more informative, engaging, and fun. Dinner was… overwhelming… In a good way. Plenty of options, including a lot of veg and vegan choices. I can’t recommend these guys enough. I hope other companies read this and book their next function.

We had a wonderful time and an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of everything. We loved the Māori performance and the geyser at night. But among that, people were great!!!! Thank you for such a warm welcome.

Very nice experience, from the visit to the Mahori Arts and Crafts Institute, passing through the walk in the area where 3 kiwi birds reside, to the mahori show and watching the geyser at sunset. We had many experiences on this beautiful day and you can get a taste of Mahori culture and the beauty of the sulfur site with its geysers and colors, especially at sunset. Special mention deserves the fabulous buffet lunch with typical foods, dishes cooked among sulfur vapors, oysters, meat and every good of God.
