Explore the historical roots of National Socialism and Adolf Hitler's rise during a small group tour in Munich. Delve into some of the events of the 1920s that paved the way for Hitler's ascent to power in the 1930s, including the famous Beer Hall Putsch and formation of the German workers Party. Led by experienced local guides, this tour is designed for both novices and those with some knowledge of the subject, ensuring an open environment for questions and discussion. During the tour, we will share historical photos and paintings to help visualise Munich 80-100 years ago.

- Covers significant topics including Nazi symbolism and ideology, antisemitism, Hitler's life story and WW2 destruction and reconstruction amongst other topics.

5.00We did the Third Reich tour in Munich with Jax (the owner) as our guide, and it was honestly amazing. The tour lasted a few hours and was at a really nice pace — not rushed at all. Jax was super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history. What made it even better was that he only takes small groups, which was such a contrast to all the other huge tours we saw. Those big groups looked like they were struggling to hear anything, while we could easily chat with Jax and ask loads of questions. He had really detailed answers for everything. It was such a great way to see Munich and learn more about this part of history. I walked away feeling like I’d actually learned a lot. Definitely recommend this tour!

5.00We were very impressed with this tour. Our attentive guide, gave a good informative tour as we walked to various places from Hitler's time in Munich. We felt it answered some of our questions about a difficult and awful period in history. Our guide was mindful of the cold weather and found places we could stand to stay a bit warmer. Also guide Aileen helped us find our way to train station after the tour. She also gave helpful general info which was useful as we travelled on in Germany.

5.00Our group was small. We could hear well and had time to ask lots of questions. Our guide expkained from the beginning how Hitler took over government. Walking over the same stones and seeing history in the stones made the sad story come alive. We had studied this history, Now we can put together how and where it happened

5.00We joined two ‘Heart of Munich’ walking tours during our holiday this week and thoroughly enjoyed both. The first, on Tuesday, was the Free Walking Tour led by Brett. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and shared his local knowledge in an engaging way. Highlights included the beautiful Marienplatz Glockenspiel, and we left with a great sense of the key sites to explore during our stay. We enjoyed Brett’s tour so much that we booked a second, smaller-group paid tour on Thursday – The Nazi Munich walking tour, led by Scott. This was excellent from start to finish. Scott gave us a fascinating and in-depth insight into the rise of Nazism in Munich and guided us to sites of real historical importance. The Memorial to the Victims of National Socialism was particularly poignant. We would highly recommend both tours to anyone visiting Munich.

5.00Great informative tour by Scott which kept us all captivated for 2.5 hours. He was incredibly knowledgeable, focused on Munich’s place in WW2 and the Nazi regime as well as concisely covering the wider 1870-1945 history. Excellent for family with teens studying history. Thank you so much.
