Do you want to experience the stunning nature and mountains from seas? Be surprised how crystal clear the water is and how much life there is under water as well? And maybe even see seals from a kayak, which are living in the bay this tour is taking you. Kayaking in arctic, year-round is an unforgettable experience. During wintertime kayaking is still possible and locals do it a lot! With right gear you will be warm and cozy inside the kayak, while enjoying white mountains and stunning polar night colors around you!
We like to keep the amount of participants low, so that you have a better possibility to experience the quiet nature and feel relaxed. Your guide is local, living in the area year around .
This tour is real eco-friendly! Located in Håkøybotn, Kvaløya island, where you arrive together with your guide with local buss from Tromsø city and after the tour guiding you back to the nearest bus stop. You can also arrive with your own car.
Welcome to experience arctic kayaking!

All the needed equipment for kayaking, together with drysuit we are wearing
Snacks
Warm clothes you are wearing under drysuit. You should have at least 2 layers: for example merinowool shirt/pants and top of that a thick wool/fleece. Woolen socks, warm jacket, (wool)hat and cloves
Please bring extra clothes with you to change after the tour
Before jumping into the kayak, your guide will introduce all the needed gear for you and give you an introduction how we safely do a kayaking tour. So you do not need to have earlier kayaking experience. Kayaking is also absolutely the best activity on a rainy day! When wearing a drysuit and sitting cosy inside the kayak, it is nice to listen and follow raindrops jumping on a water surface. After introduction we will start our tour and enjoy the magnificent nature around and under us. On the bay we are kayaking, is a lot of seals and we have a possibility to follow their life as well (We cannot promise 100% that we are meeting the seals, but so far we've seen them on every tour :)! On a halfway on a tour, we will have a short break with warm drink and a snack, which are included to the tour. Kayaks we are using are either double or single kayaks (some cases). Please notice that there are some restrictions on this trip for safety reasons. You must be able to swim and communicate in English. Due to the size of the kayaks and dry suits, participants must be 158-195 cm tall and have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or less.

Had a brilliant kayaking experience with Jenni. Great host and beautiful lake. Saw lots of seals who were curious about the kayak but we kept a respectable distance for the welfare of the seals which was great. Fab photos and accommodating to everyone even if you haven’t kayaked before!

Had an amazing experience with a glimpse into local life on Kvaløya. The kayaking was effortless and smooth, making it accessible for everyone. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the whole experience felt truly unique. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the adventure even more memorable.

Jenni was such a wonderful guide. She runs this business (which she created!) so she is an absolute expert, and she's also just an all around kind human. She provided us with all the gear we needed to stay warm and dry (though I would also recommend bringing hand warmers for your hands and feet if you go out on a particularly cold day or if you generally get cold easily). You have access to a bathroom before and after you go out on the kayaks. We saw a few curious seals following behind us and one person even saw an otter (and we all later saw otter tracks when we stopped for our snack and hot beverage)! We had to break through ice that had formed over the shoreline to take the kayaks out onto the water, which only added to the cool experience. The views were stunning and the water was crystal clear. Jenni took some photos and videos during our excursion, which she sent to us afterwards. Do not pass up this unique experience!

Had an amazing time at this kayaking tour. Jenni was the perfect guide through our journey and made everything seem super easy (even though we did this activity in December, with such cold weather!)! We were able to see seals which made the whole experience even better. But to be fair the kayaking tour is already worth it just for the landscape!
