The tour guide was friendly but that is where it ended. She spoke very poor English and no information about the trip unless it was written in front of her. She fell asleep on the way to our second stop in Cotswold and when she woke up, the bus driver was going to the wrong place. He obviously couldn’t understand her either and then she started yelling at him in front of us all blaming him ….Very unprofessional !! By the time he turned around to go to the right town, it was all closed. Disappointing!!

It just felt like a ride there and not so much of an actual guided tour. Very little detail was given and the tour guide had a thick accent that was hard to understand. At the end of the tour, the guide took my phone and made me give five stars…. I’d still recommend the tour to family and friends, but would hope they had a better informed guide - it really makes all the difference!

Just be prepared that this is fast paced, and you will spend approximately 6 hours in the van that day (more time spent in van than at the actual sites). However, it’s a good way to sample these sites if you’re short on time or otherwise don’t have your own transportation to get there. Our guide, Amanda, was very energetic and upbeat, giving us historical info en route to each site. She was dutiful to count each group member before leaving each site. If you’re solo, she’ll help take pictures of you and knows the best photo opps. Everyone in this group of about a dozen was mostly respectful and returned to the van on time, so that we could visit our next site as planned. Be aware that, in the morning, they will start counting you as no-show at 8:25 (if your tour leaves at 8:30, for example), as they do leave 8:30 on the dot. Wish there were more restrooms available at the departure point (two toilets for a long queue of women). At the sites you either have to find a public restroom (sometimes difficult) or go in a pub and buy a water or drink, use their restroom. Our driver was very prompt as well and always had us on time to our destinations, despite a road closure. Our guide Amanda told us we were fortunate to be in a van and not a coach/bus, as the van can more easily access the towns’ centers. Your ticket to the Bath museum is included with the tour. There is not much leisure time at these sites, maybe a few minutes to briefly get a souvenir, see the site, and grab a quick lunch in Bath. You’re not going to be able to read every single bit of info in the Bath museum (if that’s your thing), as you’d spend all of the allotted 2 hours in the museum and nothing else in town. I was able to walk to Jane Austen’s former home. The Cotswolds were a bit crowded on a hot day (during the heat wave), with tourists in the water. Beautiful little towns, I just feel somewhat bad for them being overrun. Overall I would recommend this tour if you’re short on time and would like to experience these sites. Shoutout to guide Amanda and our driver.

Completely a mess. First off the tour guide had the same five facts and was excessively repetitious. She screamed into the microphone such that it was necessary to put ear plugs in so as not to get a migraine within five seconds. Her misogynistic commentary that the husband’s get their wallets ready for shopping were ridiculous and add to it what shopping when you give not even 30minutes in a village. We wasted more time trying to get to the Roman Baths with her trying to convince us to go to one particular restaurant or ice cream shop. Almost as if she got commission from the restaurants. Then she told us to use the public toilets but forgot to mention that we needed change to do so. Other matters the Wi-Fi did not work at all. When she could tell we were unhappy she kept showing us the itinerary and asking did you enjoy. I was honest and stated I was not.

We had a lovely time on the Bath and Cotswolds walking tour—the places we visited were absolutely stunning, and it felt like walking through a postcard. Our guide was funny, engaging, and clearly passionate, which made the journey enjoyable and lively throughout. That said, there were a few things that could have been better. We had very limited time at each stop, and it felt a bit rushed—we would have loved the chance to explore each location more fully. Also, while the guide was entertaining, a few of their comments might come off as inappropriate or offensive to some. Finally, we were a bit disappointed that we weren't dropped off at the location that was originally promised. It ended up being quite far from our Airbnb, which was inconvenient after a long day of walking. Overall, it was a great day out and we’re happy we did it—just wish the pacing and drop-off logistics were more thoughtfully handled.
