And all with the ease of an E-bike, these fun little bikes that give you a boost up the gentle hills that surround the city.
For group tours, you can choose between the East Side course which visits the Ginkakuji Temple, with its stunning zen gardens, the Heian shrine with an incredible garden and the amazing Philosopher's Path (3.5hrs)
Or be more adventurous by exploring the West Side with visits to the top hitters, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, The Golden Pavilion and the amazing Ryoanji Rock Garden (6hrs).

EAST SIDE COURSE: We take you to this shrine which is a recreation of the old imperial capital. We also take you into the hidden garden which boasts three big ponds and plenty of beautiful nature to admire. (note this is only visited on the East Side Course)
Ginkakuji Temple
EAST SIDE COURSE: One of the most splendid zen gardens in all of Kyoto, this temple grounds is one of the most beautiful places to admire Japanese garden design. Also a place with significance as the home of a shogun leader during a time of upheaval in Japanese history. (note this is only visited on the East Side Course

5.00Kevin was an A plus guide. His knowlege of history, culture, politics of Japan was phenomenal. He's chill but totally on top of his game. Took us on an amazing bike tour, beautiful, fascinating, and informative. Honestly might have been our peak experience in Japan. You don't come across guides this good very often. Thank you Kevin!

5.00Kevin B, our host, was awesome. My partner and I are spending 2 nights in Kyoto on our first Japan trip. He spoke multiple languages, was very knowledgeable about Kyoto and Japan, and even gave my partner and me food recommendations around Kyoto to try. He biked at a steady pace, was patient, and answered all of our questions about Japan with enthusiasm. On the tour we enjoyed a ride through the city of Kyoto into the eastern side near the mountain and learned a lot about the Silver Temple. He took us around to a religious cemetery and we learned all about the tradition and culture of Kyoto. We rode through the beautiful eastern side of Kyoto, along the beautiful Kano river and along Tetsugaku No Michi. It was a beautiful day during early November to enjoy the early sun but also the rain.

5.00Kevin was a really nice guide and cycling through Kyoto back and forth was the thing that my friend Malin and I liked the most - to see the backstreets, the varying houses , shops etc. Lovely to hear about life in Japan. The Bamboo wood was like an installation and the Golden Temple was amazing and the rock garden was very Zen

5.00Our guide Philippe was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in just enough detail. The east side tour is much less crowded and we loved cycling down the Path of Philosophy and along the river.

5.00Thank you to our guide Philippe for this wonderful bike ride. A beautiful journey through the history of Japan, anecdotes and life today. We discover the east of Kyoto... its temples and shrines, beautiful gardens and we end our escape by the water. Philippe is passionate, lover of nature and a well of knowledge. Highlights... electric bikes, small groups and Francophone guides. I recommend with my eyes closed!

5.00This bike tour was amazing! Kevin, our guide, was so lovely and knowledgeable about all the places he took us to. Riding through the little back streets was so much fun. The ebike was fabulous - high quality, conformable and really easy to ride. I would definitely recommend this tour and Kevin to anyone visiting Kyoto.

5.00Kevin was a perfect guide on our bike tours. We did the East tours as we were doing the other highlights on ourselves. He was knowledgeable, told nice stories and insights, was very flexible and easy going. Highly recommend it. The bikes were too small for us but that didn’t bother us.

5.00Awesome trip! Our guide, Kevin, was terrific. He was so knowledgeable and we learned so much. Plus he was like a friend you didn’t know you had. We even had lunch with him after the trip. This was a great way to experience Kyoto. I definitely do it again.
