Let's explore the Gion District geisha streets and take a deep dive into the "real Kyoto" in this magical, night walking tour. The expert guide will share with you all the hidden details of the closed world of geishas and mysterious Shinto shrines.

This is a walking tour going through several geisha districts, shrines, and beautifully preserved historic districts of Kyoto's Higashiyama area. The tour is about 3hr 30m.

The guide is an expert, speaking very clear & easy to understand, native English. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and will be able to answer all your questions in detail.

The guide will select a refreshing Kyoto snack during the break. (a small snack, not a full meal...will make every effort to cater to dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, vegan as well)

You will get deep insight into the Japanese way-of thinking, culture, and traditions that can't be experienced on other tours.

TAKE THIS TOUR! This tour is one of those experiences that completely heightens the quality of your trip and gives you a new lens with which to experience the place you’re visiting. What Richard taught us about the geishas, traditional culture, history, Kyoto, samurais, the Shinto religion — everything! — gave me such a new understanding of Japan and Japanese culture. I starting taking notes mid-tour because this was information I wanted to remember. Richard is so thoughtful in what he shares and answered so many of our questions. I can’t recommend him and this tour enough. If I could, I would take every tour that he has available! He is a wealth of knowledge.

The perfect way to see the most iconic parts of the city! Richard was one of the best guides I’ve had on my whole trip in Japan, he knows a lot about the culture and history of Kyoto. Also, we visited Kodaiji Temple, for me the highlight of the tour! That was insanely good! I fully recommend this incredible tour.

Don’t hesitate and go ahead and book this tour! This is a fantastic way to get to know Kyoto a little better. Richard is a wonderful tour guide. He kept a great pace, was very knowledgeable, and tailored the tour to the group. He arranged for a delicious food break. He welcomed any questions. He also graciously arranged for our group to enjoy an attraction that is typically not open during evenings.

I cannot say enough good things about this tour. It’s the best way to experience Kyoto and Gion. It’s truly magical at night. My guide Richard was fantastic!
