Unique to the Big Island of Hawaii, over a dozen species of whales can be found on the Kona Coast year-round! Join us as we explore the offshore in search of pilot whales, false killer whales, whale sharks, spinner dolphins, sperm whales, and more!
Our Hawaiian Adventures crew is passionate about whales, and we pride ourselves on being the whale experts of the Big Island. The ocean provides new opportunities on every tour, so trust the guides who do this every day! Our crew works hard to show you the most wildlife on every trip, and we aim to leave you with a new appreciation for Kona’s whales, wildlife, and vibrant ecosystem. Come winter, spring, summer, or fall, our goal is to show you it all!

5.00Olivia, the naturalist, and Andrew, the captain, did a phenomenal job. We saw multiple pods of Pilot whales and both Spotted and Spinner dolphins. The Spotted dolphins stole the show….

5.00This was a great investment of our time and money - so delightful! We saw and learned so much more than we expected. The ship is large with two levels, and you can move around easily. The water can get choppy, so we highly recommend taking precautions if you're prone to motion-sickness. It was a very comfortably sized group. Our captain Andrew and our marine biology expert, Olivia, were pleasant, extremely informed and could answer every question with ease. Highly recommend!

5.00This was by far the best whale watching boat I’ve been on, and I’ve done tours all over the country. The boat was modern, super clean, and incredibly comfortable. The seating was great—nice chairs with cup holders, and I was able to sit in the shade which made a big difference. I definitely recommend bringing a windbreaker if you plan to sit in the shaded areas since it can get breezy. One thing to note: this tour isn’t ideal for those who struggle with seasickness unless you’re okay with getting sick. That said, the crew was absolutely amazing and did everything they could to make the experience enjoyable for everyone, even those who were seasick. They were attentive, caring, and quick to help with anything needed. Overall, a fantastic experience with a top-notch crew on a boat that stands out from the rest. Not to mention, we saw about 35 whales! Mainly pilot and beaked whales.

5.00Went late in the season but found a couple of big Pilot Whale pods, a mother and calf Humpback, sail fish, White Tip Reef Shark. Very informative. Loved Olivia's knowledge about the different species, life cycles, migration, etc. Nice boat. Lots of space.
