Upon arriving at the gateway to the Whakarewarewa Redwoods Forest, you will be greeted by the friendly Mountain Bike staff who will fit you with the appropriate bike and safety gear. You will be riding on the newest, top quality Giant Mountain Bikes to ensure you have the best ride possible. The staff, specialise in mountain biking and the Whakarewarewa Redwoods Forest. They will then help plan your route around the forest before you commence on your awaited adventure. Enjoy our bike rentals, bike mechanical support and delicious café available onsite all year round from 9am to 5pm, except Christmas Day.

It was a great day out. Excellent service and advice. The track was sufficiently challenging for us seniors. Great stops along the way to break the journey. It was well signposted. We hired electric bikes which was the best for us. We will definitely be back.

I was expecting a trailer with our bikes on it but they have a beautiful store and super helpful people. The bikes were new and they fitted each to our sizes. Trails started 50 meters from the store. Highly recommended.

The outfit you with bike and helmet. Remember to bring gloves and water bottle. The mountain biking here is the best I’ve ever experienced, and I only did one percent of the trails. I can’t wait to come back someday and try different trails. The 3 to 4 hour experience was a great idea and Viator was great and communicating and for a reasonable price.

Pickup procedure was super easy and directions were clear. The folks who fitted us for our bike even gave some recommendations on paths to take. Overall the mountain biking was scenic/good, but we did have one issue as the chain of one of our bikes fell off about halfway through the day. The team (I think the name was Michael) was very helpful and helped swap out the bike but a good amount of time was lost so we were not able to cover all the distance we wanted. We understand that these things happen and appreciate the team’s help to get us back and going. I would encourage people to think about renting an e-bike based on desired amount of challenge. With just one day it might have been better to cover more ground and see more sites with an e-bike. I wouldn’t change what I did but it’s worth considering!

Really good and cool experience. We rode for 3.5 hours on e-bikes, which meant that we got a lot of trips :-)

Great experience but the company did a poor job of directions to the place. They dropped the pin in the forest along a private road. They definitely need to fix this problem.

We hired a bike at the Redwood forest for 2 hours. There are a range of paths to ride on (each graded for difficulty). We can cycle well but aren't well versed in extreme mountain biking, so kept to the green routes. This was a perfect fit, and incredibly fun. There are heaps of families enjoying the routes, so feels incredibly safe and fun. Nice cafe nearby the bike hire area. This was a spare of the moment decision on our trip, but ended up being one of our favourite parts. A must do!.

Rented bikes here and had a blast riding through the forest primeval. I'm a tentative mountain biker at best, but there were kiddie trails I could handle (barely!) If you're a serious mountain biker, you'll be in your happy place. Nice coffee shop onsite for after-bike sustenance.
