The guide will make your own itinerary. Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) : The highlight of Kinkakuji Temple is the golden Shariden Hall. It is said that this building was built with the image of the Pure Land. Its beauty is breathtaking. In addition, the 600-year-old pine tree called "Rokushumatsu" is one of the three most famous pines in Kyoto and symbolizes a boat heading to the Pure Land. It is also a typical Japanese Zen garden.
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
"Fushimi Inari Taisha: Kyoto's Famous Shrine of Thousand Torii Gates Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of Kyoto’s most famous and spiritual landmarks, well-known for its thousands of torii gates that lead visitors up the slopes of Mount Inari. Dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice, agriculture, and prosperity, Fushimi Inari Taisha is a significant site for both spiritual pilgrims and travelers looking to experience Japan’s unique blend of nature and religion. The shrine complex is popular for its long, winding paths lined with vibrant red torii gates, known as Senbon Torii (""thousand torii gates""). These gates create a stunning corridor that stretches for over 4 kilometers up the mountain, offering a picturesque journey. Each gate is a donation from individuals or businesses, with the donor’s name and the date on the back. It takes about 2-3 hours to hike at the summit of Mount Inari, but smaller shrines and resting spots along the way provide a peaceful and rewarding journey.

I was solo on this tour. I felt rushed by the guide in order to make it four hours. Overpaid for value of tour. I paid for two museum entry fees, but felt insufficient time to view. A few photos taken, and minor explanations. I bypassed the souvenir shops as I am not interested paying tourists prices for small trinkets (or large ones). I was asked mid-way through the tour for transit payments for the tour guide. Not a usual or customary request. Was left at lunch in a small restaurant as the tour guide said "go straight on this street to get the subway to Kyoto station". I've never known a tour guide to leave you and figure out how to return to the beginning. Probably in a hurry to meet the next tour. Checking my GPS, he pointed me in the wrong direction. I found the subway station after a 15 min walk and caught the train to Kyoto station. I will locate tours with better reviews, in the future.

Kenji was the most amazing guide, he was so knowledgeable about every location we went to and gave us such an amazing tour! We really enjoyed our time with him and seeing all of the beautiful sights in Kyoto! If we asked a question, Kenji knew the answer! The best guide ever.

From the time we booked our tour we felt the communication was very good. When we met our guide, Mitsuhiko, he was so friendly and generous that we felt like we were visiting the city with a local friend. His organisation was wonderful and we got through all the travel transitions very efficiently. Our guide shared interesting information about each site and answered all our questions about culture, economy and family life. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we asked Mitsuhiko to help us book another tour for the next night. A very enjoyable experience.

Toshi Yomada was an excellent guide. Prepared for hot weather and made the whole experience fun, educational, and more than we could have hoped for.
