• Great tour in Kyoto

  Hassan, our guide was great. We only had 7 hours because of our cruise ship schedule but he ensured we saw the most famous sites in the city…. The Golden Shrine, streets of Gion, the bamboo forest, 1000 Tori gates and shrine and a few others. Hassan moved at our pace and shared his knowledge of each location. He was flexible with our schedule and got us to the bullet train on time. Definitely recommend

• Not a guide just a driver

  If you are looking for a GUIDED TOUR, this is not for you. Aka our driver, was just that a driver. We weren't given much information or history of what we were looking at. The car rides were awkwardly silent. At some locations he would park and take us to a central point and then tell us to meet him back at the car 30 minutes later. When the tour states each location is given a hour time slot. When we would return to the parking lot. He would be gone and we would have to text and wait for him. He even stopped during the tour to fill up the car with gas. Aka, was nice but not very engaging. So if you're looking for a private driver. This is the tour. But if you want a guided tour, this wasn't it, in my experience; which is a shame because we only had 1 day in Kyoto. I read the previous reviews and felt excited and confident in what the tour was going to provide, but it fell terribly short. The night before one tour guide (Leshan) text saying he would pick us up at Kyoto Station. Then 30 minutes later Aka text saying he was picking us up. When asked about Leshan, he said he was sick. Overall, it was unprofessional and misleading.

  Our tour guide was Azat. He was wonderful, descriptive, and very helpful. He made our trip even more memorable. He showed us all the sites in detail and took pictures for us. Towards the end he also showed us places we could go on our own. We have one negative review and that is for the tour operator. The title of the trip says private tour with luxury vehicle and we were sent a tiny Honda with bad AC. This is something Viator and other travelers should take a note of as it points to unreliability.

• Perfect way to maximize a day in Kyoto

  Perfect way to see a lot of great Kyoto sites in one day. This was our only full day in Kyoto and we wanted to make the most of it. Leshan picked us up at our hotel and drove us all over Kyoto - to the really popular places and some that we hadn’t heard about but were fantastic. We never would’ve been able to see so much in one day without a tour. He was friendly and really knowledgeable about the places we visited.

  SHA was really helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking this customizable tour. He made suggestions and guided us all throughout the tour. He was exceptionally patient with my kids. Most of the time the kids were talking loud or singing but he did not make us feel bad about it all. A must if you want a convenient way to explore Kyoto.
