5.00Discover the market and the endemic fruits of the country accompanied by the friendliest guide, Veru. A very good way to dive into this mix of colors and appetizing smells. The highlight was the discovery of the inextricable links between corn and Mayan culture around a cooking workshop by the very welcoming Maria and her family. We enjoyed cooking our tamales and other pepian. From the age of 76 Guadalupe will teach you how to handle traditional volcanic stone mortar. An experience to live absolutely! We loved it and enjoyed it. Thanks to Veru, Maria and all her family.

5.00Our tour guide was very nice. We started in the food market and learned about traditional Guatemalan ingredients. Then we went to the cooking class where there were three generations of Guatemalan women showing us how to make traditional tamalitos and chicken pepita. Everyone in our group helped with each step of the process and saw how to prepare parts of the meal in traditional and time-saving modern methods. The meal was so delicious and flavorful and I plan to make this same meal at home

5.00We had a unique experience in Mayan cooking class with Rebekah and Betsy. We were a group of 12 people and from the first moment everything was perfectly organized and careful to detail. Rebekah’s attention and hospitality as a host was extraordinary; she made us feel welcome at all times and also explained the behind and history of each ingredient, which made the experience even more special and enriching. Betsy is a great master cook, very clear in explaining and very passionate about what she does. The food we prepared was delicious, with fresh ingredients and excellent quality. We left very satisfied with this experience and will definitely come back. Super recommended for those who want to do something different around the Antigua area.
