The welcome was very chaotic and not organised. Our guide for the ninja experience seemed very distracted and his story was chaotic. We were allowed to throw stars and blow darts, but it was very disappointing. The tour in the museum was very nice and you are able to throw stars here as well. The dress up as a Samurai was very disappointing. The only stars we give are for the tour guide in the museum, she was great! The complete experience is not worth your money, just visit the museum.

Very expensive for what it is. 3000 yen for an hour tour and send plastic stars. I really advise against it.

We did the combo Ninja Experience with Museum tour. Dressing as a Ninja, throwing the Ninja stars and shooting the blowgun are done in the annex which is located in the Nishiki Market. The museum is a short walk from there. You spend one hour at each place. Ko guided us through the museum. He did a great job explaining the the hierarchy in Japanese culture and the history of the Samurai. Afterwards we all took a try at throwing ninja stars (again) and were able to dress up as samurai. Was it a bit hokey? Yes, but it still was a lot of fun and when do you ever get to act like a Ninja?!?!

It’s a very nice place to visit. I believe our guide name was Cole, he had very good English and was explaining things very well and straight to the point. Fun visit for everyone

It was a very informative and cool museum to go through and read about the samurai history of Japan. Tepe was a fantastic presenter and gave great insight to the history.

We did the ninja experience. Very fun for our boys ages 13 and 8. After changing into ninja costumes, the guide talks about the ninjas/samurai’s for a short bit. Then we threw ninja stars for a while. Then we did blow darts. We ended with a short sword fighting session with padded type swords. After, we walked ourselves to the samurai ninja museum which is about a 6 minute walk and our admission was included to the museum with our experience ticket (our kids didn’t like the museum as much as the experience). Note this experience is closer to nishiki market not at the ninja museum itself. This experience was one of our kids favorite in Kyoto.

Enjoyable experience. Ninja weapons fun. Our kids are 10 and 11 year olds. They enjoyed dressing up as ninjas and having a go with the tourist friendly ninja weapons. Guide was nice. Not worth the A$400+ though
