  My daughter and me had a great few hours on this tour. Maki is very knowledgeable and a great story teller so we learnt quite a few things about Kyoto and the Japanese culture. The bike ride is very enjoyable and covers a lot of ground which is great. The destinations Maki selected are interesting and bike is a great way to explore them. The return ride on the river bank is wonderful as well.

  Maki is an excellent tour guide. She shares historical context to all our stops and gave us insight into Japanese culture and life. She took us to small alleyways which are beautiful, not busy, and very enjoyable. It was a pleasant and must-do tour.

  Maki was a kind and patient guide who understood the comfort and skill of our cyclists. She taught us many aspects of Japanese culture. The sites of shrines and temples on our path was from the world famous busy to the local and quiet. We cycled though neighborhoods and main corridors. Maki found shelter for us from the rain and we met people on the most local of cafe. They too were generous in their hospitality. Maki is an enthusiastic guide whose energy encourages you to explore more. She makes this experience less of a trip, and more like a journey.

  Mika was lovely and she did a great job of giving us a glimpse of Japanese culture by sharing her own family’s stories. We got a great intro into Shintoism and Buddhism. She also gave us information about the different objects we can see in the streets and outside homes and what they meant, where we would have walked past before without even noticing. The biking was very easy and enjoyable, and we went through beautiful parts of the city, by the river and by narrow, older streets. The visits to the shrine and temple were great and Mika once again did a great job of explaining their significance to the Japanese culture. Highly recommend!

  This was an amazing tour that my friends and I all agreed was a highlight of our trip! Maki is incredibly knowledgeable and gave us insight into Kyoto that we would have otherwise never known. She had an awesome energy that made the experience even more positive and fun, all while making sure we were safe and got to bike through different cool areas of the city. Would highly recommend this tour and experience!!
