Regardless of skill level, you are bound to have the experience of a lifetime on this white-water sledging adventure from Rotorua. White-water sledging — also called riverboarding or hydrospeeding — lets you take charge of your own vessel as you twist and turn down the rapids while propelled by the flippers on your feet. Trained guides are available on the Okere River to encourage, motivate, and help you when necessary.

5.00My son and I had an amazing morning white water sledging. Big shout out to our guides Hemi and Jackie for showing us the ropes and keeping us all safe. Would recommend for anyone who is comfortable in the water.

5.00Having rafted Kaituna on a previous trip, I was keen to try something a little different and sledging ticked all the boxes; adventurous, unique and bloody good fun. Hemi and Jackie were engaging, professional and fun, ensuring we were safe and well guided the whole way. Thank you for an amazing experience!

5.00We did the sledging which was definitely a challenging experience. In the base camp we were first equipped with the appropriate equipment ( helmet, swim resistant, wetsuit / Jack / shoes ) After that we went by bus to the river and on the way there was a briefing on how to behave. After a short walk down to the start, our guides gave us a Maori prayer to honor the river and nature. Afterwards we went into the water with our “Sledges”. The activity requires a lot therefore also a good fitness as you get into stomping properly even with swimming fins. Some scratches or bruises are also part of it in the end. Our guides were concerned about our safety at all times and did not let us out of our sight to intervene or support us in a difficult situation. For sports enthusiasts who do not fear the water and the challenge definitely worth a very action-rich experience / recommendation.

5.00The white water and sledging adventure was amazing. Our guides Hamish, Ben, and Jace were so friendly and made the day an absolute blast! We are in Rotarua for part of our honeymoon and it was a super fun adventure to do together! I had never been rafting before and hadn’t even heard of sledging. As an added bonus, the water was 23 degrees Celsius! When I went in the water it was like a warm, chaotic, bath. Thank you to the team for a phenomenal day! *notes: wear your bathing suit, they have wetsuits you can put on. You get water boots (mandatory). If you’re doing both the rafting and sledging, bring a small snack for in between + water to sip when you reset before sledging. Don’t wear anything valuable (if you accidentally bring, they can lock up valuables for you/you can put your excess clothes and they get locked in the change room). Bring a fresh pair of clothes to change into for when you’re done!
