It is a unique opportunity to be able to spend time inside a traditional machiya or Japanese townhouse. Kyoto was once filled with these simple wooden houses. Ours is about 80 years old and we think you'll agree it is still beautiful. Please come and immerse yourself in a quaint, yet elegant space.

Very Authentic Experience, I highly recommend this experience. E sat on a mat but they provided a stool for my husband as he had a sore knee.

Superb tea experience with our guests. The ceremony takes place in small groups (here 8 people) and two Japanese to demonstrate and then practice. The place is authentic and friendly, and they gladly answer various questions from visitors Price more than correct compared to the others, and possibility to buy set and chew set at the end I recommend the experience

Wonderful explanation of the intricacies of a tea ceremony. The ladies operating the tea house were warm, wonderful teachers. Bought some matcha from them to bring home. Would definitely recommend.

A small group that was taken care of very kindly. Very good explanations about the ceremony itself and presentation of the different parts. A positive experience of us all

Super sweet and welcoming environment. The ceremony was beautiful and well explained. Welcoming and so peaceful. It's a nice escape from the world. Bit of advice: if you spend a lot of time walking beforehand, bring a fresh pair of socks to change after you leave shoes at the door. I feel bad for any wafts that reached my seat neighbors and spent my meditation time contemplating how good this idea would have been if I had it a few hours earlier.

We had the best experience with Ami & Kimi. Their warm welcome was lovely. The tea ceremony itself was great. We enjoyed learning about the history behind the ceremony and taking part in the ritual of appreciating the soundings. Making our own tea was something special too, the whole experience was just a lovely thing to do on our trip.

It was a very interesting and well organized experience, the girls were welcoming, kind and clear in explanation. What are the names of the treats we tried with tea? Arigato gozaimashita 😊
