Join a road trip through the most famous fjords in the coastal area of Tromsø. On this tour, you'll discover places with breathtaking scenery, you'll have a chance to take the best photos and get to enjoy homemade food on a picnic in the Arctic. Meanwhile, possibly spotting wildlife!

During our time together in the wilderness, we will collect data for one of our citizen science projects. We’re committed to conservation, regenerative travel, and protecting the Arctic nature. You’ll help collect data used in environmental research and in our Responsible Tourism Project, supporting sustainable practices across the region.

We encourage you to provide us with your email address to be able to send you the pictures after the tour

When exceptional situations arise (e.g. weather cancellations) it is important to reach you. This is easiest if you provide your best contact number on the road (phone number + correct country code)

The place where you will be staying at (Hotel, Air BnB or other) in case we need to contact you

Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking as well as medical condition if needed

Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Make sure you wear appropriate winter clothes and shoes.

A small amount of walking is involved, you must be able to walk 200m or be prepared to wait in the vehicle.

Activity is in English

Please be prepared for limited toilet facilities, there will be a gas station stop during the drive, however the tour itself is in the wild Arctic nature where the only toilet possibilities are in the forest (there are no pre-built facilities)

Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if less than 4 passengers per tours. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.

The itinerary is subject to change and the viewing locations will be chosen based on the weather and environmental conditions on the day of the tour

We went on a winter Fjords tour with wondering owl and our guides Aneta and the driver Ellie were amazing. Telling us many local stories , explaining about the scenery and took great pictures of us, which are included in the price. I would recommend this tours it’s just breathtaking 🤩🤩🤩

Very nice experience, we walk through some incredible landscapes. Aneta, our very nice guide, we walked a little more to see reindeer and we saw them! It was great.

We had a brilliant day with Anna on the winter fjord road trip. The weather wasn't on our side with extremely icy roads, road closures and storm/dangerous weather warnings so Anna made a very sensible decision to take us inland rather than the typical seaside trip. She showed us some beautiful spots not too far from Tromso, and worked so hard to make the most of it for us despite the harsh weather conditions, including a sheltered snowy picnic with tasty food and plenty of stops to see and photograph the spectacular scenery. Anna was such good company and so knowledgeable about the local landscape and culture, we learned so much from her, from facts about fjords and native trees to viking myths and sami traditions, and some fun stories about spies! Even though we didn't have the bright sunny skies we hoped for, we had an excellent experience. Thank you so much! ✨️💞

Had a very nice and interesting trip (hosted by Anna). Even with harsh weather condition we were able to witness some beautiful scenery and get some nice insights about the area.

We had a great time! Our tour was about 4 hours (10am-2pm). My husband and I are on our honeymoon and we’re so glad we booked the fjord road trip! It was so nice and beautiful seeing Tromso and surrounding areas in the daylight! Our tour guide Aneth was wonderful- she took us to several beautiful locations and we got beautiful photos! We did have a bathroom stop included, which I appreciated! Aneth answered all our questions and taught us about the local wildlife as well as the history of Tromso. She was very professional and kind. Aneth provided us with vegan sandwiches and coffee as well as a homemade cookie! We enjoyed the company as well as the scenery. Would definitely book again!

Amazing trip to see the fjords and landscape - absolutely beautiful views. Our guide, Aneta, was fantastic - so friendly, knowledgable and lovely. She found us a perfect little spot to enjoy our local sandwich and hot drink on a fjord!

Max was an amazing host. He made the tour feel very personal. I loved the adventure and think it’s a must for anyone who wants to see the landscapes of Tromso!

I joined the tour completely spontaneously – it was fully booked, but luckily someone didn’t show up and I could take their spot. It was pure luck, as it turned out to be one of the most beautiful tours I’ve ever experienced! The scenery was breathtaking, and our guide Max showed us the best spots with so much passion and knowledge. He set a great mood from the start and spoke clearly and slowly in English, making everything easy to understand. What I loved most was that he regularly paused to allow questions and real conversations – he truly shared the moment with us.

Did a day trip with Max and saw some amazing Fjords, especially Grotenfjord. It was nothing like what we had seen before. Max was informative and passionate about explaining things to us. We had a picnic with home made sandwiches and Cacao and the setting was perfect. Thank you Max and the Wandering Owl team for making our trip memorable!!
