This Bay of Islands experience is designed to give you flexibility while still enjoying a fully guided small-group journey. You can choose between two booking options:
- Tour including accommodation – Your overnight stay in Paihia (twin share, with the option to upgrade to single if travelling solo) is included and arranged for you.
- Tour excluding accommodation – Accommodation is not included. You are free to book and enjoy your own preferred stay in Paihia!
Please ensure you select the option that best suits your needs when booking.
No matter which option you choose, you’ll enjoy:

Solo travellers will be required to pay a Solo Surcharge for Accommodation (+$150 NZD)

The Kauri Museum
Exiting Auckland, we travel west and follow the road through the kumara capital of New Zealand, Dargaville. Our first stop sees us visiting the Kauri Museum, to understand the remarkable story of New Zealand’s largest and most famous native tree.

5.00It was wonderful fun. It's a comfortable drive through rolling hills, with views of the oceans both side. Fish and chips in a glorious bay with turquoise water. Then up to Waitangi and the ceremony on a sunny day. The accommodation was nice and breakfast yummy. The next day on the cruise was relaxing and interesting seeing all the islands. Dean was a great driver, friendly and interesting, he really made our trip a delight. We would highly recommend this tour and company.
