Our tour guide, Gus was very knowledgeable and my husband I enjoyed the tour. Since it was in July, It was really hot. I recommend to bring an umbrella to protect from sun if you travel in Summer.

The only positve thing I have to say is that the tour was safe, thanks to our driver Daniel, and informative, thanks to the guide, Julio, but that´s it. Unfortunately he couldn´t answer a simple straight question about the tour costs and did the tour like he was doing us a favour. As for the operator, they never sent me the receipt for the "not included expenses". When you pay the "48 USD State tax" (that other operators don't ask for), they charge you a high exchange rate regardless you pay in Dollars or Pesos. I took a tour to Tulum with a different operator and had no issues at all, felt welcomed, and that it was worth every cent, so can't recommend this tour operator.

Our day spent with Mario Rodriguez and our driver Miguel was filled with history and insight to the region. Miguel ensured we were cooled and safely transported to the sights. We were able to experience the sights of both Mayan cities in the comfort of our small group. Mario was very insightful and happy to share many historical facts and additional pictures of these sights. Muchas Gracias Mario and Miguel!!!

be prepared for a very long day ours was about 14hrs from pick up to drop off at our resort and the seats are very tight so not a very comfortable drive, bring snacks or buy some at the convenience store where they pick up your tour guide from. you dont get much time to explore on your own at chichen itza but it is well worth the experience. and the best part at ek balam is climbing up all the buildings for a beautiful view.

We booked this tour on viator because all the excursions by Tui were too expensive. This tour was great, Maui was an awesome guide who knows a lot about the Mayan history. It was really nice to have such a small group. The drive to Chichen Itza from Playa del Carmen was really long, but totally worth it. Chichen Itza is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. We had a guided tour by Maui, which was great, but the free time afterwards was a little bit too short. We saw the most of the place, but not everything. After Chichen Itza we went to a cenote, also the most beautiful i've seen in Mexico. The sun that was shining in the water was so beautiful. The water was so clear, you could see all the fishes. It was nice that we also went to Ek Balam so we could see another ancient Mayan city. OVer there we could climb a lot of ruins, which is not allowed in Chichen Itza. Great day, great guide, most wonderful excursion from all the 8 we did in Mexico.
