Tour out to see the rugged beauty that is Auckland’s Wild West Coast, where you will find yourself tip-toeing along a cliff-top to expose a huge, untamed Gannet colony. While rigorous waves crash below on kilometres long black sand beaches. Plus enjoy unbelievable views out to the Tasman Sea, and exploring the vast range of walks leading to greater views and waterfalls. Don’t forget your surfboard!

The Wild West Tour can be altered to fit your travel priorities and desires!

Please be aware that this is a booking request. We will be in touch as soon as possible following your booking time to confirm your tour. This is to allow for customisations and ensuring you get the best out of your desired tour.

After we have confirmed your booking, we also confirm a final tour price. This can be paid in-person or simply by bank transfer. We will take away the $5.00 booking fee which you have paid to make this booking.

The trip included some very interesting stops, beautiful views. The van was very clean, Mike was a very pleasant tour guide. We were happy with the tour overall

The perfect day trip from our Auckland CBD hotel. The West Coast, Piha and Wuriwai Reserve are beautiful, as is the drive between destinations. Mike was a super tour guide, offering comfortable and modern transportation, snacks and waters, knowledge of all the areas, and a happy, flexible demeanor. Not wanting a crowded tour or to drive the mountain roads ourselves, this was the perfect alternative. Highly recommend.

"Fantastic Experience!" I had an amazing time with Auckland Tour House! The staff was friendly, and the tour was well-organized. I got to see beautiful sights and learned a lot about Auckland. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The black sand beaches are a must see! Unfortunately, the Gannet colony and Murawi beach was unreachable due to slide. However, Mike provided some great alternatives, including Mount Eden and the Rose Garden. All around a fabulous day. Thanks!
It was nice to have a private tour, but you have to pay for it.

3. I had a private tour with Mike since I travelled solo, and it was my first time in New Zealand. Mike was super easy to communicate with. He quickly answered all my questions on my itinerary and even made some research and suggestions since I was more interested more in wildlife. Mike picked me up from my hotel near Auckland airport, just as we agreed (I had to pay extra for it). The vehicle was clean and comfortable for traveling. I am a hobbyist photographer, so If I needed to stay longer at a sport, Mike was total open to that. Unfortunately, it rained the entire trip which kind of spoiled my experience. Overall, I had a great experience with Mike and would recommend him as a private guide, although, it was quite pricey.

The tour guide was excellent and the locations were incredible. Our guide Mike was a font of information and drove us safely from location to location, letting us explore each stop at our leisure.

Mike was a fantastic guide. Extremely knowledgeable. Loved having a private tour of the west coast of New Zealand. My family enjoyed this excursion and took many memorable photos. Highly recommend this excursion with Mike as a guide.

This excursion was worth it just for the time we spent at Piha Beach. We went to a Visitor Center, Piha Beach, and then to the top of One Tree Hill for a great view of Auckland. Mike was a very accommodating tour guide and drove us many miles. We only wish he would have given us a little more historical type information as we drove. Even with that criticism, we would recommend this tour if you want to see the west coast of the island.
